What is Solstice?
A solstice is an event occurs when Sun reaches northmost or southmost point from the equator for the year. The term "solstice" comes from Latin. "sol" means "Sun" and "sistere" means "to stand still" And now it is become solstice. This is happen every year twice due to the tilt of the Earth's axis.
Types of Solstice:
The Summer Solstice happens between June 20 and June 22 for northern hemisphere and between December 20 and December 23 for southern hemisphere.
The Winter Solstice happens between December 20 and December 23 for northern hemisphere and between June 20 and June 22 for southern hemisphere.

Northern Hemisphere - Summer Solstice: Between Jun 20 and Jun 22 Winter Solstice: Between Dec 20 and Dec 23
Southern Hemisphere - Summer Solstice: Between Dec 20 and Dec 23 Winter Solstice: Between Jun 20 and Jun 22

During Summer Solstice, the daytime is high and night time is low i.e
we can say it is the
longest day or
shortest night of the year.
During Winter Solstice, the nighttime is high and day
time is low i.e we can say it is the
longest night or
shortest day of the year.
